How this game happend
This game was created after my partner and I watched a very entertaining movie by director Michael Matthews. The quest-like story was intriguing and inspiring, and reminded us of something you would experience in a TTRPG. So when a group of friends asked me if I could host a TTRPG one-shot a few days later, this naturally came to my mind. I only GM’d a shadowrun session before and I knew I’d have to find a way simpler system in order to keep my sanity and make it accessible for my first-timer friends. I found John Harper’s Lasers and Feeling but the setting did not click. I realized there are already tons of hacks, so I figured I may have a chance to figure this out. I created a very rough draft with my limited layout skills, posted it on reddit (where even said director took notice) and hosted a session. We had a lot of fun. I was nervous about having to improvise much, but my players helped me out when I stalled. Action, romance and weird things happend and the session ended with a player charakter being kidnapped by a naked old man who belonged to a cannibalistic cult. Great stuff.
So when I registered my itch account a few days ago, I thought: why not give this hack a proper facelift and publish it here so it won’t be lost? It probably will still be forgotten, but maybe someone will eventually stumble over it and give it a try. It is my very first game and also encouraged me take part in a game jam.
